Solution:
The final solution used a bold black background and used coloured foils to emphasise the focal singular illustration and make it stand out compared to other publications book covers. On the spines I had a continuous design of James Bond’s gun firing a bullet across the top of the book series to emphasises that this is a book collection.
All the books I designed were displayed as a central point in an exhibition in Chester.
Approach:
For each book I researched key aspects from the storylines which had not already been used on previous publications. I need to reflect on influential designers and agencies, showing how they have shaped my practice and aspirations for future collaboration.
I wanted to create striking, modern take on the books and have a simple creation which summarised the heart of the story.
Overview:
The aim of this project is to produce a bold, self-directed piece that promotes me to employers, highlighting my creative abilities, inspirations, and ambitions. I have always loved the James Bond movies and aware that over the years there have been numerous book cover designs for the James Bond stories.
